As an Organization we need to be able to format the 'Phone' field.

We just launched the ability to create a 'Phone' Custom field. Within that, you'll be able to chose the country format that you want for the Phone numbers. :)

It doesn't make a difference which format you use (999) 423-7777 or 999-423-7777. Anything is better than no format

Thanks for this wonderful suggestion!
When you say 'format', could you give more details on specifically what's most important to you? 
e.g. requiring a country code? requiring an 'area' code (for US #s)? Requiring the correct number of digits? Including the correct "spaces" or "dashes" (depending on country)?
